Thank you to all that took the time to view and sign this petition in support of all of the Essex High School Graduating Class. This petition has been forwarded to all members of the Essex County School Board. I will be posting via Facebook the response we receive. Let's all hope they will recognize this for what it is, support for the Seniors, and allow this to be held outside for all of their families and friends to share. Thank you again!
The 2015 Essex County High School Senior Commencement Exercise is slated to be held indoors in the auditorium of Essex High School. The seating available in the auditorium for the family of each student will be limited. There will be additional "viewing" available in the Commons Area and Gymnasium on a first come basis.
Each of these seniors has earned the opportunity to be celebrated. They have been supported by many members of their family as well as friends to arrive at this milestone. For many, this will diminish the day as no one wants to observe such a ceremony from a separate room.
The seniors want their families to be a part of this moment. The desire of the majority, if not all of the seniors is to have this commencement exercise outdoors, weather permitting, on the football field as has been done historically.
This desire is no doubt shared by the students' families. Please sign this petition as soon as possible if you as a senior, a senior's family member or a friend share this desire.
The petition will be forwarded to the Essex County School Board as their next meeting is scheduled for May 11, 2015.
