This year Equestrian Victoria has enforced a rule that all horses competing at shows run by EV affiliated clubs must be registered with Equestrian Victoria.

Every horse at a freshmans event, clinic, or show organised by an EA affiliated club must now be microchipped and registered with EA/EV.

This new rule puts unnecessary and onerous financial pressure on riders trying young horses and indeed any rider who competes at a level lower than 1.05m.

This rule will also put substantial financial pressure on event organisers as it will affect entries in unofficial classes and, in turn, drive up entry fees in other classes to make up the difference.

This new rule encourages our sport at EA level along an exclusive path and drives up costs even further in an already expensive sport.

We the undersigned call on the board of Equestrian Victoria to revoke the rule that all horses competing at EV/EA affiliated competitions in Showjumping must be registered with Equestrian Victoria.

We wish to revert to the previous system where only horses competing in Official classes (ie 1.05m and above) are to be registered.

We believe this change back to the previous rule will encourage more horses and riders in to our sport and increase participation from riders of all ages and levels of competition.

Important note to all those signing - please state whether you are a PC, HRCAV or EA/EV member in the comments box and supply your membership number.
Thankyou!
