Queen Mother to Lead a Delegation to Libya on a Fact-Finding Mission
Queen Mother Dr. Blakely, who, for nearly forty-eight (48) years has been speaking at the United Nations as a civil society representative on the abolition of slavery, the need to memorialize the ancestors, the need to connect the African descendants to the homeland, and overall, the need for healing, reparations, and transformation of a people, is leading a delegation to Libya on a fact finding Mission in January 2018.
Queen Mother, appalled by latest reports of estimates of 400,000 to almost one million African people now bottled up in Libya living in horrific conditions and among other abuses, being sold off as laborers in slave auctions, in full view of the international community, hence, deemed vital that a Community-driven fact-finding mission takes place.
Queen Mother has traveled to Libya once before on a peace mission over two decades ago.

Greetings Everyone, My name Louis David, I am a Representative of New Future Foundation and the United Nations. It has been brought to global attention of the atrocity taking place in Libya.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on December 10, 1948 (General Assembly Resolution 217) set out the fundamentals of Human Rights to be universally protected.
"Whereas Member States have pledged themselves to achieve, in co-operation with the United Nations, the promotion of universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms"
