Warning: Kansas State Constitution undergoing changes that must be stopped. The government wants to stop the funding for public schools.
While states typically provide a little less than half of all elementary and secondary education funding, these funds are essential in assuring quality education in public schools. States rely primarily on income and sale taxes to funds these schools. Kansas State Legislature is putting our education in jeopardy. Teachers’ rights are declining as we speak and this puts our education at stake.
The Kansas State Legislature is taking away teachers' opportunities to speak out about where our funding comes from and how much we get. In order to stop this we must work together and take a stand.
We, the undersigned, call on the Kansas Legislature to be forced to include public school teachers and their union representatives in all debates regarding school funding in the state of Kansas.
