Support employment and educational rights for felons

Many ex-offenders, even after years of doing their time, feel that they are still locked up and paying for their once bad decisions. Why is this? Why must a human who is gonna make mistakes in life, still carry this burden for the rest of their life? To me and to thousands possibly millions of others, this is not right this is not humane. single mothers and fathers that were young once and made mistakes cannot provide a bright future for their children because the fact that they have convicted felon on their record. This means no furthering their education in lots of fields and no high paying jobs because even though its been 5,10... 20 yrs ago they are still having to pay for their mistakes.

I'm single mother of 3 girls and was in school for medical assistant had to drop out because i was informed having a felony conviction i could never have degree in medical. Now i owe student loans and cant find a job after thousands of applications. It has been 10 years and i will carry this for the rest of my life, how am.i.suppose to provide for my girls if I'm still being punished for a mistake that i made 10 years ago.

Not only am i being punished still but now my children are also being punished. I believe that after 10 years myself and thousands of other felons should have the right to have their record sealed.

We should have the right to further our education in what we please and we should be able to get job offers without being declined for our past. Please help by signing this petition so felons can have their rights back. This would be strictly for non-violent felons regardless if adjudicated guilty.
