Right now there is a broad-based grassroots effort underway across the United States to introduce legislation prohibiting job discrimination based on sexual orientation.
So far at least 26 states and 211 cities have passed legislation on this issue. Nashville is one of the biggest cities in the country that hasn't, despite the fact that 68% of the public believes that gays and lesbians should be protected from job discrimination.
Please sign this petition to urge Mayor Purcell to take a stand on this important civil rights issue.
I support the creation and enactment of local legislation to prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation in the city of Nashville.
