The administration is forcing students at Navasota High School that are enrolled in a science class to participate in science fair. Many students are now failing their science classes because of the assignments due.
The students feel the amount of time given to complete the assignments is not enough. Such as the abstract was due months before the local fair, and in order to finish the abstract you have to have your project finished.
This would mean you only have a month or two to think of a good original project and finish it. This is unreasonable.
We, the students of the Navasota High School science department, are requesting the administration take in to consideration that most of the students are busy writing senior papers, are enrolled in dual credit college classes, are participating in other fairs such as history fair, and their time is consumed by other school related activities.
With this stated we ask that you would not make science fair mandatory for all students enrolled in a science class because it is affecting our grades and causing most students to fail.
