Designated smoking areas for Westfield Hornsby

I am a mother living in the Hornsby Shire and I do all my shopping at Westfield Hornsby. Since having my daughter I have become very aware of people smoking around my family.

I believe that my family should be entitled to having meals and enjoying Westfield and its surroundings without having to worry about second hand smoke. I recently had breakfast with my daughter in a semi enclosed area outside Westfield, unfortunately there was a person sitting at the table next to me that was smoking and it was hanging around my daughter constantly. I don't feel that it should be us that should have to move to be comfortable.

I recently took a holiday to Hawaii and every restaurant I visited had a designated smoking area, away from the general public. There wasn't any smoking on the sidewalks and I really noticed the difference.

I want healthy air for my daughter, I think all our children deserve not to be exposed to second hand smoke. I propose that a designated smoking area/s should be situated away from the general areas of business/ congregation.
