Depletion of the Rainforests

Hi my name is Jessica and I am a student. It scares me to think that some day, we humans are going to wipe out our own race. What can we do to help?? Save what we have left and teach others what they can do to help. One very important isssue for me is the rainforests. What people don't seem to realize is that without these rainforests we have almost nothing. We could quite easily be sufficating ourselves.

The rainforests support almost HALF of the earth's known living species. 4,000 acres of irreplaceble rainforest is destoyed each hour. That means 100,000 acres everday and an area the size of 10 city blocks is burned every minute. Please help me in trying to stop the depletion of our natural habitat because before too long we could very well wipe ourselves out of distinction.
