The Laurel Highlands School Board may decide to post the Head Baseball Coach job and not rehire current Head Coach, Scott DeBerry. In the past four years, Coach DeBerry has put countless hours into rebuilding the baseball program and into building better student athletes. LH Baseball has won two section titles (undefeated both times) and have been in the playoffs three out of four years. This does not include the many other accolades the program, players and coaches have received. Accolades such as Coach DeBerry being named WPIAL-AAA Coach of the Year and NFHS Pennsylvania Coach of the Year; neither ever awarded before in Laurel Highlands history. The success of our program would not be possible without the guidance, knowledge, and dedication of Coach DeBerry and his coaching staff.
We, the undersigned, DEMAND the Laurel Highlands School Board rehire Head Baseball Coach Scott DeBerry and extend his contract. We believe he is the best coach for our needs and more qualified than any other coach in our area. We have made incredible strides as a program under his tenure and we want that to continue. We NEED it to continue.
