Demand for Harshest Punishments Avaiable for Criminals that Rape and Murder A Child

In November, we had Jorelys Rivera, age 7, who was raped and murdered in Canton, Ga. In December, we have Aliahna Lemmon, age 9, who was murdered and dismembered. The laws are written to protect the criminals and not the victims. If the harshest punishments are mandatory as with drugs, we would not have so many victims.
These children died because our justice system does not protect the rights of the children but of the person committing the crime.
We, the undersigned, demand that laws be written to make rape and murder of a child an offense that is not eligible for reduced sentencing and will be prosecuted and given the maximum penalty available under State law.
