Paulus Hook is one of the fastest growing populations of Jersey City. Yet we have virtually no recreational facilities within the borders of our neighborhood.
Our children are forced to deal with cars and exhaust just to kick a ball or learn to ride a bike.
To access parks in Jersey City requires residents of Paulus Hook to walk over one mile in order to access the nearest park to our community. We wish this community to continue to thrive and succeed. In order to do this we must make this community a place where people wish to reside and raise their families.
One small measure to accomplish this goal is to create a park for the children of Paulus Hook and by extension the residents of Jersey City.
We, the undersigned, call upon the City of Jersey City to designated green space or park at the southern end of Washington St., between Dudley on the north,, the little Morris Canal, Liberty State Park Northern extension on the east and Morris Canal on the south.
