Covert Narcissistic personality disorder is a very unfortunate condition which often goes unnoticed for some time. Victims in relationships with sufferers can get so far as to start a family before they realise their partner has a mental disorder. This will often lead to the children being denied their other parent in court due to the deceptive nature of the narcissist and the overt reactions of the victims coming across as challenged in themselves. Fifteen months ago I was talking to Social services about my daughter's twenty odd facial injuries from her mother's cat and told the lady my worries about Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I also told her not to tell the ex as it wouldn't help. The ex and her lawyers then surprise me in court with the fact this SS officer turned 'round and told her straight away. I have decided to compile a covert NPD petition for court (with your help). So little is known about the frightening dangers of covert NPD these judges need to be brought up to speed. If you have looked into it and believe that Covert NPD exists you will likely know how damaging it is. Please sign. Thank you. That narcissistic personality disorder exists in documented covert form. The sufferers of this condition display an outwardly normal, vulnerable demeanour and are often adept at portraying the victim. In my experience it is only those in an intimate relationship with the sufferer who will experience the true nature of the individual as they wear an extremely convincing virtual mask when in company. Whilst I may not be a mental health professional I have first hand experience of Narcissistic personality disorder which I have researched thoroughly and have found to be the only likely explanation I have found for the emotional abuse I have suffered. Please be advised that if you have a covert NPD sufferer in your courtroom you will be unlikely to detect malice, ill intent or a grandiose facet to their demeanour. Close friends of sufferers almost always have no inkling. In the covert form the disorder is still manifested in a similar way whereby the sufferers are entirely self-serving. They do not possess empathy or associated remorse. They are incapable of truly caring for anyone except themselves, although they will likely be adept at projecting compassion. This is learned behaviour resulting in carrying this condition through from childhood. The exponents of this condition abuse the true sufferers with slander, gas-lighting, stonewalling, silent treatments, false domestic violence allegations, wholesale deceit and controlling / coercive behaviour. I am in contact with many individuals who have experienced much of the same. Crucially an NPD sufferer does not possess genuine empathy, ie is incapable of genuinely caring for any other individual, despite giving the impression that they can and do.
