This petition serves as a counter to another petition to end the traffic calming road diet study. We intend to show there are far more people who are not affected or simply don’t care to end the study because of the disgruntled 1% who oppose the idea of a vibrant more easily accessible downtown area in the wonderful Conservative Mecca of Midland. As a daily traveler of this route I have found it has little to no impact on the time it takes me to commute. I spend more time at a red light than it takes to travel the entire traffic calmed section of highway that cuts through Downtown Midland. Please sign the petition below to let the powers that be know that we appreciate the efforts made to always be willing to try new things to improve the quality of life in our great little town! We the undersigned call on the powers that be in the Conservative Mecca of Midland to continue the traffic calming road diet on the section of us10 business route that passes through Downtown Midland and use the data collected at the end of said study to make a well informed decision on how to go forward with road planning and deciding how many lanes are needed for this stretch of highway.
