We consider this connection necessary for the convenience of public travel and especially for the residence of these affected communities.
The original master plan for alto piano showed Network Drive continuing on to the Borough line where Apple Hill is now. When Maronda Homes came into Apple Hill Plan, they extended a 50 ft. wide right-of-way down to Mr. Graziani’s property line.
Cecil Township Supervisors saw the benefits of this connection and approved the connection against the desire of the planning commission contingent upon approval from Canonsburg.
A statement issued by the traffic engineer who did the traffic study for Mr. Graziani showed that there would ONLY be an additional 31 units of travel in the morning and evening because others would still use McEwen rather than Forrest Drive.
We, the undersigned residents and taxpayers of the Apple Hill Plan of Canonsburg, PA. and surrounding areas, do hereby petition the Canonsburg Government - Council and Borough Management to hold a public hearing in reference to the request to open Forest Drive to allow access to the Alto Piano Plan via Network Dr., which is located in Cecil Township.
We hold that it is the desire of the majority that this connection be complete, and that the opposition to the connection presented to the proposed opening in 2010 was at the influence of the minority without majority knowledge of the current residents of Apple Hill.
