Teachers in Texas public schools spend most of their lives educating everyone's children and preparing them for higher education. However, because teacher salaries are low, but high enough not to qualify for any assistance, a teacher's child might not have the opportunity to receive a higher education. Most teachers cannot afford to send their children to a four year university because of the cost.
I believe all Texas teachers who have taught at least ten years or more should be able to receive a discount on tuition at a state funded school.
We the undersigned call on the Texas legislature to introduce and pass a bill which would provide Texas public school teachers a discount on tuition at a state funded university for their own children.
