The recent implementation of a poorly justified, illogically implemented "POP TAX," is the final straw. It was vaguely explained as a way to reduce citizens intake of sugar.
It was claimed that the poor who have no insurance, but suffer from diabetes and obesity, are a financial burden on Cook County. Now we find that LINK recipients will not be taxed.. So that was an utter lie.
Inexplicably, diet soda's, which have no sugar, are taxed, but natural juices which have natural sugar are not taxed. This among other inconsistencies and a complete failure to explain to retailers what will or will not be taxed shows a money grab from the citizens based on utter falsities.
We must take our money and our government back!
Financial mismanagement is the fault of County Managers, not the citizens. Malicious taxation of an overburdened citizenry must result in removal from office.
