The new Saturday bus schedule effective on 8/10/07 is too limited in route coverage and the hours of operation. This has created a financial hardship for people to get to work on time.
It has also led to many instances of increased safety concerns to get to desired stops that used to be a part of the normal route, forcing pedestrians to cross over busy intersections that do not have pedestrian crosswalks.
Further it has made it difficult to get around Columbia in a reasonable amount of time to conduct personal business on the only non-weekday available for bus service.
We, the undersigned, request the Columbia Transit System to change the present Saturday bus schedule to be the same as the Friday bus schedule in route and hours of operation.
