Currently the Intoxicating Liquor Act states
A special exemption order shall expire:-
a) In case it extends to any Monday that is not a pubic holiday, at 1.00am or
b) In any other case, at 2.30am
There is no logic to the fact that a Licensed Premises can stay open until 2.30am on a Saturday and a Monday but not a Sunday.
We, the undersigned, call for the Minister of Justice to change the current Intoxicating Liquor Act so that a Special Exemption Order on a Sunday is until 2.30am, the same as every other day of the week.
