Target:
Slaton Manor Board & HOA
Region:
United States of America

The residents at Slaton Manor are mostly elderly people who often live with no one. This can sometimes get lonely.

According to a study by the Minnesota Stroke Institute that followed more than 4,000 cat owners over 10 years, owning a cat can dramatically reduce a person's chance of dying from heart disease.

Some psychologists have found reason to believe that owning a dog helps lower your blood pressure and your cholesterol. And other research shows that pets help us feel better overall and help us to deal with stress, which can be a source of illness.

We are the ONLY condominium in the area that does not allow pets and it doesn't seem fair. Overall, changing the pet laws at Slaton Manor can affect many of our elderly residents in a positive way.

We, the residents and/or homeowners of Slaton Manor, humbly ask the board to amend the pet rules to the following:

Residents are allowed to have pets under the condition that:
-Pets are medium sized (cats and dogs)
-Pets are up-to-date on all immunizations
-Pets are NOT walked on Slaton Manor landscaping and are picked up after
-Pets are NOT allowed outside of residents' home without proper restraints(leashes, cages, etc.)
-Pet noise is kept to a minium (especially after-hours)
