Chanceford and Clearview Elementaries Deserve Their Own Principals!

Parents of Chanceford Elementary and Clearview Elementary students are disappointed in the Red Lion Area School District’s decision to divide one Principal between the two schools for the 2008-2009 school year.

We strongly disagree that the District is trying to “more effectively provide support for our elementary buildings.” It is improbable that a Principal assigned to two buildings can administer more effectively than a Principal assigned to only one building.

Of equal concern is the suggestion that a head-teacher in each building will be assigned to assist in building administration. There is little doubt that students of these head-teachers will have some disadvantage compared to the remaining student body. After all, their teachers will not have the distractions and divided attention that comes with holding two job titles simultaneously. This will be a serious disservice to the students of these “head-teachers.”

We, the parents of Chanceford and Clearview students, request that Red Lion Area School District hire an additional Principal in order to provide one Principal for each elementary school in the Red Lion Area School District.
