The upcoming movie BALA`s promotions kicked off with a rocky start, having copyright and plagiarism controversies from the first week after its trailer has been released it is incessantly drawing in the public`s attention because of having uncanny similarities with another movie “UJDA CHAMAN”,a moving having a similar plot to BALA and to my surprise they both are releasing in november. Whilist the whole competition between the two movies and the game of who plagiarized who, it took me by surprise that nobody was against its desensitizing content against the community having alopecia (hair loss of scalp) which is very common in India. Judging from the trailer the movie seems very problematic, offensive and considerably cliche. For instance in the trailer, the actress is mocking brown-face(altering her face colour with make-up) while they could've easily managed to cast an actor who is dusky in colour. Giving the benefit of the doubt I dindn`t considered it that much but as we move further with the trailer it start getting more absurd, we get to know our protagonist who suffers from premature balding, the trailer also shows the protagonist having self-esteem issues because of his redeccing hairline. I empathize with the protagonist for this aspect but furthermore, it tries to convey the false message that life is meaningless if you have a physical deficiency. It also conveys that people will only judge you based upon your outer self conveying that physical beauty is the most superficial thing thus, leading to the message that if you have physical deformities in your physical appearance then get ready yo live a life of hardships and agony. I don't think its correct ,we are living in the 21st century and nowadays everybody thinks that judging people just on the basis on their physical beauty is just so petty but this is just me talking from experience and another thing that i can say with experience is that nobody is that cruel to tease you if you have loss of hair, people are not that savage. In fact, hair loss is such a sensitive topic that even if a movie based upon this topic should be concerned about not hurting the communiy`s sentiments but it did the total opposite. After that we get to know that the protagonist then adheres to a fake identity just to woo a girl, having a fake identity just because you wear a wig is showed by the movie but i don't think wearing a wig is wrong or deceiving by any means. We also see that the protagonist is ashamed to tell the girl that he wears a wig, quite problematic. Nobody and with nobody I really mean no one in the world should be ashamed to open up about having hair loss, its natural .Not to mention, the most stupidest part in the movie is that it is indirectly influencing people to try out any remedy that can cure balding even if it means applying cowdung!.let's come to the script for a second, the script is just so explicit and so poorly written actually the whole movie is poorly written. For instance some dialogues in the movie goes like this- “this man is telling to put on pubic hair on my head as a wig”, and the protagonists mother is also heard saying how did this f**cker got such a beautiful women”. Just because your son is bald it dosen`t conclude to the fact that he is hideous aswell. There are also some jokes on masturbation and also there are multiple sexual innuendos. How is this movie even PG-13 its just embarrassing. Even if this movie is just made for light hearted comedy I cant even watch its trailer without having a disgusted look on my face. “Ujda chaman” on the other side is just as problematic as “BALA” but less vulgar. A movie which has covered this topic appropriately should be “GONE KESH”, it is an inspiring story of a girl who also is is suffering from alopecia. It wouldn't be wrong to say that this movie is sheer nonsense. It is humiliating to watch for people who suffer from alopecia. I wished they couldve hired someone for assistance to protect the rights of the people. These kind of movies just makes me wonder what has humanity come to.

We the undersigned, call on the makers of " BALA'' to provide an appropriate apology and also CBFC to censor the offensive content of the film.
