At BYU Idaho, a school owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-saints, curfew is taken very seriously.
Many times people will be sent to the dean of students for breaking curfew by just a few minutes. BYU Utah, also owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-saints, has no curfew when it comes to students being out of their houses or apartments.
One reason, among others, why curfew has become a problem in BYU Idaho, is the fact that the students who wish to use the library after hours cannot. Many students have classes in the morning, jobs in the afternoon, and are unable perform at their best level, because the library closes so early.
Many students feel this way and wish to change curfew or eliminate it all together.
We, the undersigned, ask for a change in curfew. We ask:
1. A later curfew, or
2. That curfew will be organized to emulate the curfew standards in BYU Utah.
The BYU ID Curfew petition to College Students of BYU Idaho was written by Brian Jensen and is in the category Students' Rights at GoPetition.
