Manhattan Beach has successfully removed their wires. One of the first steps is to get a petition signed. If a large enough percent of the property owners agree to the assessment (engineering, construction, administrative & bond costs brings an average cost per property that needs to be determined), bonds are sold & construction begins with the utility companies. Owners are responsible for completing the work from their property line to the point of connection of their services. It took Manhattan Beach 7 years to complete the process.
We, the undersigned, call on Public Works to bury the wires and telephone poles in our neighborhood.
