As a native Staten Islander, I have seen over my years numerous individuals taking their lives by jumping off the Verrazano Bridge. These individuals are suffering from some form of health crisis, and are using this particular bridge to end their lives. It is pure unresponsible for the Political officers of NYC not to take this matter seriously. They say they do, yet nothing had been done. Placing a phone on the bridge doesn't do anything. I am asking that some type of barrier be placed on the bridge high enough that would prevent an individual from taking their own life.
I am asking not just the people of NY, but those who have had someone they love take their own life, or even yourself, but became a survivor. I am asking for you the people to sign this petition to DEMAND the people we have voted for and placed into office, make them fix the problem with those who decide to use the Verrazano Bridge as their choice of death, and DEMAND that they place something to prevent another life being taken. It's time to hold them responsible for not doing their jobs...
