Richmond has longed for a professional sports team to call our own for numerous years. Because our city does not support such a cause, RVA has provided a vast following for Washington DC sports. In recent years, the Washington Capitals have inspired RVA to become a Hockey Town! Our hockey community as well as our support for DC sports continues to grow. Ratings have shown that Richmond is serious about hockey, specifically the Washington Capitals! Capitals fans in Richmond, Virginia have long awaited a DC Championship. RVA deserves to be a part of this Championship celebration, just as much as DC and NOVA!
We, the undersigned, call on the Washington Capitals to include Richmond, Virginia as a one-day destination for the the Stanley Cup as the coveted trophy makes its journey around the world.
