Disney, Bring on a gay character!

We need your help now. Your films are the first we ever see. They're the first experience we have outside of our families. Now, my people are dying because of a stigma they have imprinted on them as children. You took a bold step and decided to make a black princess and the future will thank you for it. But it's 2016 and now is the time.

I appeal to your better nature as fellow humanists, you need to stop putting your LGBT characters in obscurity and leave it up for us fans to speculate. PLEASE.. please, please, PLEASE, make an outwardly gay lead protagonist. You will suffer some backlash, I'm sure, but the better people/HISTORY will be by your side throughout it all and on into the future.

The world NEEDS to know that we're not bad, we're not going anywhere, that the future will look back on this as CIVIAL RIGHTS, and we're not going to be the victims of other people's misconceptions anymore. The little boy watching "Finding Dory" or the next romance you put out needs to know that his feelings for other boys are ok and that the other kids in the theater shouldn't want to hurt him for it. Drop the stigma, drop the death toll! We're normal, just like you. Now is your time to help change the world for the better before more of us get hurt! Your help will be the best we've had at counteracting the hate we've seen.

You've always been on our side and we know it, but it's time to make a statement. I'll buy an extra ticket for every one I buy and I'll walk through any potential picket line with my head held high. You're not going down alone but don't let us do it either. Please help us.
