From 1969 until 1990, the San Diego Padres bore uniforms that were visually distinct from those on other clubs, always including an element of the color Brown that reflects San Diego's mission heritage.
Since 1991, the color brown has been replaced with the much more common (and I presume marketable) blue.
With new ownership, there is an opportunity to bring back the traditional and distinct livery of this baseball club.
We, the undersigned, call on the new ownership group of the San Diego Padres to honor the tradition and history of this great city and replace the blue of in the team's uniforms with the color Brown.
Brown pinstripes, solid brown jerseys - it really does not matter so long as the color blue, which smacks of our existential rival the LA Dodgers is eliminated and replaced with San Diego Brown.
