In a discussion on the issue of selling off part of Jackson Park in the cities last commission meeting they proposed to discuss the development of Jackson Park for residential special needs senior citizens complex, thus taking away all or part of the oldest park in Negaunee.
We, the undersigned, call on the City of Negaunee to reconsider Jackson Park as a suitable place for seniors.
This park is the oldest in Negaunee and has a lot of history, there is really no place for the seniors to go on this side of Negaunee, i.e. grocery stores, and shopping, the seniors need things to do, with this site we see no other purpose but to make a quick buck that can be used elsewhere in the city.
