Once again we as professionals are put in an impossible situation.
Getting paid once a month is a hardship for many people working in the Whitfield County School System. Especially after the Christmas break when we have to wait 6 weeks for our next pay check.
There are many of us that don't have spouses and additional income. Many people drive from surrounding cities and counties and spend more then usual on gas in order to get to work.
There are people who have to resort to pawning their belongings to make it to the end of the month. When working additional jobs for the system (homebound) we work a month, turn in our time sheet at the end of the month and then wait another month to get that money.
We are professionals and would like to be treated as so.
We, the undersigned, call on the Whitfield County School System to change the pay period from once Month to Bi-weekly pay days.
