We, the residents of the Park Haven Road and surrounding streets, oppose the possible zoning change of Bear Creek Park. Currently the Park is zoned as follows: 2.61 acres are zoned Residential DR 5.5 (5.5 dwelling units/acre) and 24.08 acres are zoned RC20 Rural Zone Critical Area. The zoning change will make all 26.69 acres zoned Residential DR 5.5 (5.5 dwelling units/acre).
We oppose this zoning change. We don't understand why Baltimore County wants to take away all the parks - these parks are important to our children/grandchildren.
Every day hundreds of people are in Bear Creek Park, playing with their children, walking their dogs, playing sports, or simply just walking and enjoying the scenery after working in an office all day. Please leave our park - we need it!
Please refrain from changing the zoning of Bear Creek Park from RC 20 Rural Zone Critical Area to Residential DR 5.5 NC (5.5 dwelling units/acre).
The residents of the area and their children/grandchildren, the schools in the area, the recreational clubs, etc. all use this park for numerous reasons.
Taking it away is not the answer.
