On February 26, 2012, George Zimmerman shot and murdered 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida.
On July 13, 2013, George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin.
In addition to George Zimmerman's "stand your ground" defense, he admits that boxing was a hobby and passion before he killed Trayvon Martin.
Zimmerman claims that he shot Trayvon Martin in self defense, but is now REQUESTING a celebrity boxing match with opponents that have 2-3 times the size and strength of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
We, the undersigned, call on Damon Feldman, Celebrity Boxing and associates to refrain from any further promotion and the exhibition of this fight.
Although the proceeds of this event was to go to charity, George Zimmerman should not continue to profit in fame for the murder of a 17-year-old high school boy.
Placing a man in the ring with Zimmerman, no matter the race, is not a substitute for the injustice that many feel has taken place.
