The reasons to ban the use of red light cameras are many.
--The use of red light cameras is often justified as a safety issue, when the truth is that they are merely revenue generators.
--Using red light cameras at intersections often results in more rear-end collisions.
--There are several ways to improve pedestrian and motorist safety at intersections that are effective and do not involve a direct violation of our civil liberties.
We, the undersigned, call on municipalities, legislative bodies and any other organization with the power to do so to ban the use of red light cameras.
