The sharing of videos depicting fighting on YouTube and FaceBook are glorifying despicable behavior.
These posts often garner thousands of likes and shares thus influencing others to film fights in the hope of going viral. People would rather record a video instead of calling for help from law enforcement.
For the most part FaceBook and YouTube have been used as vehicles of entertainment, inspiration, motivation, and ways to showcase talented unknowns to the masses.
Unfortunately, some people would prefer to showcase the ugliness of human nature. We need to put a stop to the spread of negativity, especially when it is exploiting our youth.
Please join me in requesting that FaceBook and YouTube stop all attempts to post fight videos.
We, as members of the human race, have to do better.
We, the undersigned, call on FaceBook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter to prevent the posting of fight videos on their respective sites.
The fight videos in question are any videos that are not sanctioned by a recognized professional entity, i.e. boxing, MMA.
The goal is to halt the spread of gratuitous violence.
