On Wednesday, March 8, 2006, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the various funding requests for the county's 2006-2007 budget.
We are asking the Brownsville community-parents, teachers, and friends--to show their support for School Superintendent Dr. Pamela R. Moran's funding request, as outlined on the Albemarle County Public School website, by signing a petition.
Our goal is to present 200 signatures to the Board of Supervisors on March 8.
We, the undersigned, support School
Superintendent Dr. Pamela R. Moran's 2006-2007 school budget plan and, in particular, the following key budget
initiatives: increasing the Kindergarten and first grade teaching assistant time to 4 hours a day for
each 20 students; increasing the school nurse time at each elementary school to 6 hours per day; and adding an assistant principal position for the
Brownsville Elementary School.
Please provide our schools with the necessary financial support to educate our children.
