This petition is our unified voice to show our unwavering support in favor of current ACES students, who have already gained access through the lottery (and remained Aventura residents through these years) to get preferential admissions into the Aventura Charter High School, slated to open Fall 2019.
If the high school was being built on land adjacent to the current charter school, there would be no question that the ACES students would automatically feed into the charter high school, as exampled in other K-12 schools. This transition, undoubtedly a natural one, would be logical, seamless, consistent and fair.
The much-talked about Aventura Charter High School is being built to accommodate 200 students per grade. This enhanced student population will be able to accommodate the approximately 100 students per grade from the current charter school PLUS an additional 100 spots open to Aventura residents.
We encourage you to stay informed, involved and support your ACES children so that they can transition seamlessly into the Aventura Charter High School.
We, the undersigned, call on the City of Aventura City Commission, to offer ACES students preferential admissions into the Aventura Charter High School.
