Ukraine has been an independent nation since 1991.
Ukraine, with over 48 Million people is situated geographically in the centre of Europe. It's history and struggle for independence spans hundreds of years.
In 1991 Ukraine declared independence form the former Soviet Union and in doing so created a free independent democratic state. Something that Ukraine has sought for hundreds of years.
Currently Australia's diplomatic representation to Ukraine is via the Australian Embassy based in Moscow, Russia. Here you will find the Australian Ambassador for Ukraine.
Ukraine is on the verge of an economic boom and we would be fools not to have an Australian presence there in the way of an Embassy.
The time has come for Australia to recognise Ukraine as an independent state and to demonstrate its commitment to the people of Ukraine and Australia by establishing an Australian embassy.
We, the undersigned, call on the Australian Government to estabish an Australian Embassy in Ukraine.
The Australian Embassy in Ukraine petition to Australian Public was written by Mark and is in the category Government at GoPetition.
