Artificial turf / Synthetic grass

We would like the Ocotillo Community HOA to consider amending the architectural guidelines to allow the installment of artificial turf/synthetic grass as a landscape option. The City of Chandler offers a rebate for removing grass and installing low-water use landscaping. Not only does artificial grass save water, it requires no fertilizers or insecticides, making its runoff cleaner for the neighborhood. Artificial grass also offers excellent drainage so it dries quickly meaning water will not collect creating habitats for mosquitoes and other pests. Now days, there are many natural-looking types of artificial grass available on the market which now mimic layers of dead blades of grass above the soil just as normal grass.
