Taylor Mill’s City Administrative Officer (CAO) of 21 years, Jill Baily, has resigned and the city is going through a critical transition period. Mrs. Bailey is one of the top CAOs in the state and filling her shoes is no small task.
The CAO position is vital to the health and function of the city. The CAO oversees daily operations and works with the commission and residents to set strategic direction.
The commission voted to appoint Taylor Mill Police Chief Steve Knauf Interim CAO through August 2018. However, it is in the best interest of the city to hire Steve Knauf as the new full-time CAO.
Mr. Knauf is a trusted public servant who is more than qualified to fill the void left in the wake of Mrs. Bailey’s resignation. In addition to serving as Police Chief since 1993, he worked alongside Mrs. Bailey as Assistant City Administrator. As a respected officer of the law, residents can trust city business will continue to be conducted with competence & credibility.
