YOU KNOW WE LIVE IN A TOWN WHERE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT IS LACKING, I HAVE SEEN MANY THINGS GO ON AND ANY ATTEMPT TO CALL TOWN POLICE WAS A SLOW PROCESS, THEIR EITHER AT HOME, WAL-MART ETC.
MY MAIN CONCERN IS WHAT IF SOMETHING MAJOR HAPPENS AND IF THEY RESPOND IT MAY BE TOO LATE. I CAN LIST NUMEROUS SITUATIONS WHERE THEY HAVE HAD TO SEND WASH. CO SHERIFF CAUSE NO RESPONSE FROM GLADE POLICE DEPT. IF THEY NEED TO CALL OR SEND WASH. CO THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE FULL JURISDICTION TAX PAYERS SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WASTE THEIR MONEY ON PART-TIME POLICE.
We the undersigned, call on the local government to eliminate local police in Glade Spring, Va. The town should annex and replenish their police department and allow Wash. Co Sherrif's Office to proceed as they handle most of the area anyway.
To feel safe in your town or home should consist of us knowing law enforcement is only a call away. We deserve to have prompt service if the need arises.
Annexation will benefit the whole town so if you want to live in a safe town please say yes and sign this petition you won't regret it this is step toward a safer town night or day, any hour.
