Doveton is a suburb which gets the lesser end of the stick. While I see fancy facilities in Dandenong, Narre Warren and Cranbourne, this suburb has a school which is rotting away and looking to be turned into other real estate.
I see young people walk with no purpose, drunk and lost. I see little investment in comparison with other areas. Botanical Grove looks nice but it doesn't make the rest of Doveton any prettier.
I have seen new investment in Dandenong on a large scale, new facilities such as the council buildings, the new library, the upgraded section of Lonsdale Street.
We, as petitioners, wish to annex Doveton to the City of Greater Dandenong.
Give us a real future, one that the City of Casey has obviously not provided.
