An Open Public Hearing on Fluoridation is Desperately Needed

Dallas Texas like many American cities continues to fluoridate the city water. Dallas sells the Hydrofluorosilicic Acid treated water to 25 Cities. Dallas restaurants use this water and serve food and drinks to the many non-residents that come to Dallas for work or pleasure. Several million people a day are subjected to this treated Dallas water.
The Dallas City Council has not demanded to see proof the Hydrofluorosilicic Acid that is purchase by the city, to then be added to the raw Dallas water, conforms to the Texas Rule for additives to the drinking water. The Dallas Water Utilities stated May 27, 2015 the pump injection system accurately dispenses the fluoridation chemical, yet Open Record documents show the tap water was raised past the .7ppm target 300 times in 2014. Committee Meetings and Open Public Hearings are held by the Council for a wide range of topics. Yet, not one Open Public Hearing with experts allowing public input has been held on the subject of Fluoridation in Dallas.

The Dallas Council-members have received more than ten times the emails and have heard more than 10 times as many presentations from people opposing fluoridation than those supporting fluoridation. The Pro-Fluoride admitted in their newsletter they went behind closed doors to influence the Dallas Council. It is obvious something is influencing the council, but it is not science, facts or public out-cry.
Fluoridation clearly is an issue the Dallas Quality of Life and Environment Committee has a responsibility to look into.
We, the undersigned, request Council-member Sandy Greyson, Chair of the Dallas Quality of Life and Environment Committee to schedule a Open Public Hearing on Fluoridation. This hearing should have allotted time for public comment and experts should be invited.
We expect the Dallas Water Utilities to be invited to answer questions. The Quality of Life and Environment Committee members should require the Dallas Water Utilities to support their statements with documents.
The organizations and doctors supporting fluoridation should be invited These pro-fluoridation advocates should be required to substantiate their claims especially the often quoted "fluoridation is safe and effective".
We request this meeting to be live streamed, including the video screen and audio if used in a presentation. We expect this meeting to take place in less than 90 days.
