An advocacy petition to reduce the use of plastic bags in Imo State Nigeria

FLEP Club, Nigeria and SO Solidarieta Onlus Italy requests you to help them get 20,000 petition signatures by November 1, 2018 to enable them slow the plastic in Nigeria Africa by pushing lawmakers into passing a bill that will put single use plastic bags off the streets, waterways, gullies, farms and vegetations of Imo State Africa.
Plastic is versatile, lightweight, flexible, moisture resistant, strong, and relatively inexpensive. Those are the attractive qualities that lead us, around the world, to such a voracious appetite and over-consumption of plastic goods. However, durable and very slow to degrade, plastic materials that are used in the production of so many products all, ultimately, become waste with staying power. Our tremendous attraction to plastic, coupled with an undeniable behavioral propensity of increasingly over-consuming, discarding, littering and thus polluting, has become a combination of lethal nature
In Africa, Rwanda, South Africa, Pupa New Guinea, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda have banned the use of free plastic bags.
Our reason is that plastic bag is becoming an environmental, health, economic and social problem in Nigeria.
