A petition to call upon the Abilene, Tx City Council, to administer amendments to the Non-smoking ban that was previously voted in by city council members.
We, the undersigned, call upon the Abilene, Tx City Council, to amend the Non-smoking ban that was previously voted in by city council members.
All we are asking is to have a place to sit down and smoke, without having to go outside in either very cold or very hot weather, as a lot of us are elderly. There are businesses that are suffering from this ban, such as bowling alleys, bars, convenience stores (of which employees have to go outside 20 ft from entrance to smoke, and can't see the inside of the stores), and also bingo halls.
This ban will hurt these businesses.. also we feel that it is against our civil rights as human beings, by having to stand out in the cold or hot weather as it could make some of us sick.
So please reconsider and make these ammendments and give us some dignity that we deserve.
