The schools of Houston County have stopped students, both male and female, from expressing themselves through piercing and body jewelry.
We understand that they may be a danger in such classes as Gym or other physically active class, or to keep a classroom safe from vulgar or explicit dressings, but it is our right as U.S. citizens to do what we like with our body.
All we ask for is the right to wear our jewelry in a regular classroom environment.
We, the undersigned, ask the Houston County Board of Education to refrain from oppressing student's right of self-expression through piercings and body jewelry.
