The City of Toronto recently upgraded the water service in our neighborhood, Northcliffe Village. The city allowed resident property owners to negotiate with the water service contractor to do work for them on their private property, which was great, a win, win, win for all.

However, the City's contract with the pavement and concrete repair company does not allow for private agreement between the home owners and the construction company leading to half done driveways and walk ways that look horrible. A definite lose lose lose for everyone.

We the residents of Northcliffe Village in Ward 17 -Davenport, feel that the City should revise their contract with Lima's Construction and Landscapping to allow private home owners to make independent agreements with the contractor in order to have complete driveways and walkways on our shared private/public properties.

This will result in more aesthetic and unified streetscape and will serve to improve the neighbourhood for all. By restricting the contractors to fulfil only what the city inspector has outlined is a waste of resources and is infuriating to private property owners.

If the water main contract could allow for private agreements, the repaving /concrete repair contract should allow the same.

The Allow private resident agreements with construction companies on city contracts when there is overlap of properties petition to City of Toronto - Works Department and Council member was written by Anonymous and is in the category City & Town Planning at GoPetition.
