On July 16th, the NJ Assembly Republicans joined a lawsuit to block Gov. Phil Murphy’s ill-advised and unconstitutional borrowing plan that will put taxpayers on the path to financial ruin. Republican lawmakers opposed the borrowing bill, saying it would have long-term negative impacts on residents and could lead to tax increases and point to a prior court ruling and legal opinions that say the state cannot borrow to generate revenue.
We, the undersigned, join together to stop this blatant violation of the state constitution and to prevent adding more debt to our state and everyone who lives in New Jersey.
