Currently HDB rules permit flat owners to only adopt/keep dogs in the estates but do not applies the same rules to cats which are equally sociable, gentle and friendly if fully domesticated.
The rules are doubled-standard and unfair to cat lovers and people simply couldn't make the campaign by SPCA of adopting cats a successful one with the fact the majority housing in Singapore are flats but with the rules in placed that prohibit owners to keep cats as pet.
Please sign the petition if you are cat lovers and want the Singapore Government to change the rules to allow cats have the same rights as dogs to be kept in the flat as a pet so as to minimize the number of stray cats.
