The Solution. It is unconstitutional for a government official to block anyone on Twitter or any other social media portals simply because of differing views. Though social media was designed as a private space, politicians should be held accountable for every post they create, especially if the platform was used as a campaign medium or for making political announcements. In these cases, their social media accounts should be treated as a “public forum”, where everyone should be welcomed to express their opinion as long as they are not disrupting the peace or posing threats to the safety of the individual or the public.
