Additional Monday HE 100 Class

The purpose of this letter is to request an additional HE 100 (Family Life & Societal Development) class to be opened on Mondays at the 1-4 pm timeslot. Many students enrolled in BS Community Nutrition batch 2015 are in need of a Monday scheduled HE 100.

The other choices for HE 100, which are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the same time, conflict heavily with the schedules of FN 15 (Principles of Nutrition), CD 11 (Introduction to Community Development), and FN 24 (Dietary Patterns), all three of which are to be taken second year, second semester as advised by the curriculum. Many students who were able to enlist the Friday timeslot for FN 15 were also able to enlist CD 11 as well, which is only available on Wednesday at 2:30-5:30pm. Those who have already taken CD 11 also run into conflict due to some enlisting the Wednesday FN 15, which runs in conflict with HE 100 as well.

In both cases, HE 100 on Wednesday is not an option and the Tuesday class also does not become an option, as it conflicts with FN 24 (Dietary Patterns), which has a lecture at 1-2pm, regardless of the section chosen. Because of this situation, we as a batch humbly request that another HE 100 class be opened on Mondays, so as to disallow us from being delayed from our intended curriculum.
